This desk was made for one very special boy. He reached the age where he needed space to do his homework away from distraction. The top needed to be hardwearing, there needed to be lots of storage space, it needed to match his bedroom furniture and it needed somewhere where he could charge his devices.

This was achieved by using a white veneered MDF top which sat on top of two drawer banks. A double socket was set into the top with double USB’s to save from fumbling behind the desk for power.

The cost was kept in check by using MDF for the drawers and drawer boxes while Plywood was used for the drawer fronts to show some wood grain. Two coats of Mahogany Wood Stain were used for a finish on the drawers.

I especially loved to surprise the customer with a very personal touch of having his initials on one drawer front. I also added a multi-colored LED light strip at the back of the top for some well appreciated bling in low-light conditions.
