The first photo shows an old garden gate, very dark from many coats of stain and has sat in the sun many summers. I built a new one from the same material, Meranti, a Mahogany Hardwood well suited for the outdoors. The finish is two coats of oil based exterior Mahogany stain to match existing woodwork in the garden.
